Short Answer
This is a common worry, and the answer is yes. You can absolutely book a session without a Carte Vitale — the Carte Vitale is the French health-insurance card used for reimbursement, not a prerequisite for seeing a complementary practitioner. You simply pay the session directly; the practitioner doesn't need your Carte Vitale.
Long Answer

Why You Can Book Without a Carte Vitale

The Carte Vitale is the personal smart card of France's state health insurance (Assurance Maladie / CPAM). It lets the system charge and reimburse covered medical care. Complementarity practices like sophrology and most acupuncture are not part of that reimbursement loop — you pay the practitioner directly. So a private session has nothing to do with your Carte Vitale, and not having one yet (very common for newcomers) changes nothing.

What the French System Actually Requires

For a sophrology or acupuncture session, the only things that matter are your appointment and your payment. Ghislaine may ask about your medical background for safety, but she does not need a Carte Vitale, a mutuelle number, or any French administrative document to welcome you. This removes a real barrier for expats still waiting for their residency or social-security paperwork.

How Ghislaine Can Help

You can book directly, present, and pay for your session — then, if you wish, claim a reimbursement from your own private policy or mutuelle yourself using the practitioner's receipt (facture). Ghislaine practises in English and will help you understand the process (e.g. what receipt to keep for your insurer).
In summary
  • A Carte Vitale is not required to see a complementary practitioner.
  • You pay the session directly; no French paperwork needed.
  • Keep the receipt to claim from your own insurer if covered.
